Time had doused the tension, two weeks after the strange event, Fola was ready to have a conversation with his wife. Sandra had learned from her mum to be calm no matter how bad any situation is. Her husband had made some drastic moves which included for them to move into a new apartment and also change church because their new house was very far away from where their church was. The new building was one of the reasons he had spent so much and even withdrawn from their joint account. Sandra had no clue as to all the events.
It was a Saturday evening, Gbade came in with his mother who rarely visited. Sandra was both happy and shocked to see her mother-in-law. She had been such a blessing. despite their childlessness, she never made any trouble or suggested anything to her son that would hurt her.
“It’s nice to see you mum, he didn’t tell me you were in town.”
“It’s okay my darling. ..I am here for you and you will listen to me like you have always done. You have the right to be annoyed and whatever you decide to do after today, I will stand by you.”
“Spill it already Gbade! spill it….I am tired of the sickening suspense. Mum, I appreciate your love but this is not something good right?” She paced up and down the lounge. Gbade tried to get hold of her but his mother yelled at him to get straight to the point.
“Please listen to me my darling. Please forgive me… The day you got discharged from the hospital after the last miscarriage, I was on my way that evening to visit Steve when I met her…”
Sandra stopped and looked at him…” Her …goodness…Folagbade…her..who’s she?”
Her mother-in-law grabbed her by the arm and pulled her down to her seat. “Let him finish my daughter…calm down….
He continued.. “She was in labour. I took her to the hospital. We tried to call her family members but she said she had no one. She was an orphan, the only one who helped her and was about to marry her died in an accident. She was rejected by His rich parents. Turned out the hospital didn’t allow me to leave. She had the baby and she was beautiful. I named her Precious… The gift of a child is most precious, I tried so we could have this same gift in our home but to no avail. I got emotionally attached to the baby. I was moved to help. I got her an apartment and made her comfortable. Her life’s story was pathetic. I enrolled her in a private university and ensured she and the child never lacked anything. I visited her twice every week until one night, she had prepared me a meal. She was very beautiful and had all features and qualities any man could ever desire. I rejected the meal. She begged me innocently that it was the only way she could thank me. She embraced me and at that point I gave in. After the meal, something in me desired her. I left and didn’t visit her for about a month.
However, I ensured she lacked nothing. One evening she called me that Precious was really ill and she had managed her for about one week. She said the worst was over and she didn’t want to bother me. I went immediately to check on them but when I got there, I was overtaken by the emotions I had tried so hard to suppress it but I couldn’t. I slept with her…
“You did what?” Sandra screamed…..
“Yes my love! “He said in tears…
“Don’t you ever call me your love….don’t you ever again…”Sandra was stooped by her mother-in-law, who held onto her firmly.
“Once I started, I couldn’t stop until Tina became pregnant for me. Tina developed hypertension in the cause of that pregnancy. She managed to pull through but passed on after the cesarean section that birthed my daughter. (He beckoned, and a woman, who all along had been in the waiting room walked in with a baby in hand and a little girl) I failed us Sandra. I lost it. Will you ever forgive me?”
Sandra quietly got up and walked straight up to the room. Her mother-in-law followed her. She picked her bag and her car key and moved quickly down the stairs…. She wanted to go out but she couldn’t. The gate to the building was completely locked based on orders. She screamed and ran into house….
“Gbade! Let me go….” Gbade tried to hold her but his mother shouted at him…
“Don’t you dare Folagbade…. Ask yourself….’what will I do if I were Sandra?’ Until you have that answer, don’t you dare touch that woman. You are a complete disgrace to this noble family.”
THE BIG QUESTION:
(IF YOU WERE SANDRA, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? WOULD YOU ACCEPT THE CHILDREN AND MOVE ON OR FILE FOR A DIVORCE?)

LET ME SHARE THREE MAJOR LESSONS …
1. How many times have we fallen into sin because we chose to help. Helping a brother or a sister in times of need is perfect but understand your limitations as being human, bring in your wife or your husband or any other person to ensure that you’re are emotionally detached. Draw boundaries and near careful. How many people offering innocent and sincere help have fallen in love with people they were trying to help. ☆☆☆WATCH OUT FOR YOURSELF ☆☆☆
2. THE BIBLE CLEARLY STATES IN 1CORINTHIANS 10:12 & 13
12. If you think you are standing strong, be careful not to fall.
13. The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure
Folagbade was truly born again and sincerely loved his wife despite their problems. We must always depend on the grace of God not to fall at such trying times. God has His way of helping His children get out of such terrible sins. Unfortunately some of us won’t listen until we fall inside headlong…
Are you trying to help a man or a woman? Watch out for yourself and be careful. Draw the boundaries.
3. HOW MANY SPIRITUALLY INSENSITIVE SANDRAS ARE OUT THERE? AS A WOMAN AND A MOTHER….DON’T UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF THE HOLY GHOST WHO’S ALWAYS REVEALING DEEP SECRETS TO THOSE WHO STAY IN TUNE. DON’T JOKE WITH YOUR PRAYER LIFE…YOUR ALTAR, YOUR CLOSET…EVEN BEFORE IT STARTS, GOD CAN REVEAL TO YOU WHAT IS ABOUT TO HAPPEN. BE SENSITIVE….
