About This Competition: Youth Shades Magazine hosts a poetry competition monthly to address sociocultural issues. Poets are also promoted globally, showcasing their works to an international audience.
The Contest has five (5) stages.
Stage 1: Submission – In this stage, poets are invited to submit poems on a specific theme on or before the deadline.
Stage 2: Publishing – All submitted entries on the theme are published on the website.
Stage 3: Judgement – Judge(s) declare the winning poem based on authenticity and which best described the theme.
Stage 4: Results – The poem with the highest number of votes wins and the author bags $10.
Stage 5: Compilation – All entries are compiled into a PDF.

*If you win, your interview with us alongside your picture will be featured in the PDF Compilation.
*The winner, 2nd and 3rd runner-ups receive certificates of participation from us.
*ALL entries will be promoted on our website continuously for two(2) months.
*You can submit different poems every month on different competition themes.
The theme for this month’s (July 2017) Youth Shades Poetry Contest is Passion. What are you passionate about? Let’s read it in your poem.
In Stage 1 of July 2017 Youth Shades Poetry Contest, what you have to do:
*Send ONLY ONE poem on the theme of Passion to firstname.lastname@example.org
*Include the theme, your poem’s topic and your name in the subject of the email. For e.g Passion, This is my Passion, John Osas.
*Your poem shouldn’t be longer than 14 lines.
*You can attach your file as a .doc or write in the body of the email.
DO NOT INDULGE IN PLAGIARISM; SUCH POEMS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED.
