SHAME (Ó MÀ SE O!) by Benjamin Harrlett Bamidele

Know you shame?

The naked robust attraction,

The ephemeral wisp on the ear,

The stench that beckons all;

Veiled by porous stitches of lies.

Know you not shame?

That drags the defaced bearer

Like a dead soldier on a mule,

Then cages his countenance;

Compelling humility.

Know shame, son!

Play not inner gods,

Fear your shadows

Till they become blind;

Heed the bells tied to your neck.
